1. Do I have to own a pony to be in Pony Club?
No! Pony Club is the largest equestrian educational organization in the world. The word "Pony" comes from our British origins, where any horse ridden by a youth rider is referred to as a "pony". Many olympic athletes have worked their way through the pony club curriculum. Riders of all ages ride horses of all sizes. This is where it all begins! The cornerstones of our foundation are education, safety, sportsmanship, stewardship and FUN. Members learn riding and the care of horses through mounted sports. The skills, habits and values instilled through horsemanship will apply to every part of a member’s life.
2. Am I too old or too young to be in Pony Club?
Anyone aged 6 or older can be in Pony Club! We have have several families who have 3 generations who are all pony club members. Horsemaster memberships are available for horse enthusiasts ages 18 and older who would like to participate in regional events.
3. Why Pony Club?
In addition to being the largest equestrian organization in the world, pony club offers TONS of opportunities for equestrians. Scholarships, traveling instructor programs, and affordable access to quality instruction in just the beginning. Members learn skills such as planning, responsibility, speaking, and teamwork, all while learning about horses!
